Hearing aid verification is completed on every hearing aid fit at Better Hearing Solutions. Verification is identified by the International Hearing Society as a best practice for all hearing aid fittings. Better Hearing Solutions has been successful in using speech mapping for verification since opening its doors in 2008! We proudly use all industry best practices to give our patients the best possible service for their different types of hearing loss. Not only is verification a part of our hearing aid fittings, but we believe that every patient plays a vital role in a successful outcome, and therefore we also use a validation process to deliver the best results to our patients. This allows the hearing instruments to be tailored to the specific needs of each individual to maximize their effectiveness. Verification and validation are the objective and subjective ways that hearing aids are measured.

What is Hearing Aid Verification?
Verification is an objective (no response from the patient) measurement of the volume level for the hearing device. Better Hearing Solutions uses an Audioscan Verifit to perform speech mapping. With a tiny tube placed in the ear canal close to the eardrum, we are able to measure the sound that comes out of your hearing instrument. This is graphed by the Verifit showing the amplification compared to your hearing loss. We measure soft, average, and loud speech sounds making sure that we deliver speech for better communication while keeping sounds comfortable for the individual.

What is Hearing Aid Validation?
Validation is the subjective part of our fitting process to allow the patient to give their personal feedback and input to meet their specific lifestyle needs. This is completed during follow-up calls, appointments, and satisfaction surveys. Validation is what we like to describe to our patients as the art of the hearing aid world. We use the science to deliver the sound, and then our hearing health professional uses their expertise and training to meet your individual needs. Our validation process is like the finishing touch to a beautiful picture, since the sounds of life are beautiful. The validation part of a hearing aid fitting gives you, the patient, confidence in the hearing aids that you are getting.
